Harvesting Life | Part 2
Spring has arrived!
It’s finally time to start moving the plants outdoors and putting the direct sow seeds down. The true test is to see if these plants can survive outside and bear vegetables to harvest. There is a serious learning curve which has taught me that the land will teach and not vice versa. If I slow down – everything needed will show itself.
Here are few other lessons gardening has taught me over the years:
Persistence – One year, we did not have a successful garden at all. The only harvest we had a chance of having, the rabbits and any other local rodents ate it in the night. However, the following year we continued with prepping for the next garden. We learned the lessons, built fences and moved past the challenges faced the previous year.
I now know that being persistent is required in the effort to becoming successful. Most people stop at the losing moment and the successful persist and learn from the experience.
Everyone has their own struggles – No one can understand your struggle – It’s in the spirit of the individual to understand each step that needs to be taken to survive their life journey. Understand when all the chips are down for someone else – you might recognize it as a similar situation you went through and have words of wisdom or tips to help.
Love Prevails – Successes and failures have equally contributed to the progress of this farm. When difficult decisions are made – the ones made with love in mind seem to always work out for best.
Are you as excited about spring as much as I am? Brand new season – infinite possibilities!
